Using the Pueblo RE Sales 2014 data file…

  • Open in Google Sheets
  • Select a neighborhood and filter so only properties in that neighborhood are visible
  • Highlight the “Total SqFt” and “Selling Price” columns (Shift-Ctl-Down Arrow helps)
  • Go to “Insert > Chart” to produce a scatter plot
  • Fit a “Trendline” to the data and display the equation and the R² value.
  • Record (on a sheet of paper) the neighborhood name, linear equation and R² value
  • Repeat until you’ve recorded data for 5 separate neighborhoods (you may choose any set of 5 neighborhoods)
  • Hand in the paper with data recorded before leaving class

Prior to joining Aftermarket Analytics, Justin managed corporate consulting for the Strategy & Analytics division at MapInfo Corporation, leading major projects for retail clients including The Home Depot, Darden Restaurants, Bridgestone-Firestone, Sainsbury’s and New York & Company. Before that, Justin served as Vice President of Software Development at LogicTools, now part of IBM's supply chain application software group. Justin holds a B.A. from Claremont McKenna College, a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon and an Executive Management certificate from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
