Instructions for Exam 1: Part 1
Download Pueblo Real Estate Data. Use the worksheet corresponding to the last digit of your PID to answer the questions below using your assigned data. You will need to calculate Price Per Square Foot for each property.
- Produce a Histogram to illustrate the distribution of Selling Prices
- Produce a Histogram to illustrate the distribution of Price Per Square Foot
- Produce a set of “stacked” Boxplots to compare Selling Prices by neighborhood
- Produce a set of “stacked” Boxplots to compare Price Per Square Foot by neighborhood
- Calculate Mean and Standard Deviation for Selling Prices for each neighborhood
- Calculate Mean and Standard Deviation of Price Per Square Foot for each neighborhood
- Rank each neighborhood from high to low in terms of Selling Prices.
- Rank each neighborhood from high to low in terms of Price Per Square Foot.
- Rank each neighborhood from high to low in terms of Selling Price variability.
- Rank each neighborhood from high to low in terms of Price Per Square Foot variability.
What to submit:
- Overview: Prepare a business report. It doesn’t need to be terribly formal. But it should be professional.
- Page 1: Your report should include an Executive Summary (no more than 1 page) describing Pueblo real estate prices and comparing neighborhoods.
- Pages 2+: Provide responses to each of the 10 questions above.
- Your report will be graded on accuracy, readability and appearance.
- If you use the wrong data you will lose points (a lot of points).
- If it’s difficult to find or understand your report you will lose points.
- If you submit sloppy work or pages with poor print quality you will lose points.
- If you submit a huge pile of unnecessary papers you will lose points.
- You will need a print copy of your report to answer in-class exam questions on Wed, Sep 28.
